The Stellar Smiles team makes the dental experience more valuable one patient at a time. We do this by prioritizing education and prevention to give patients more control over their oral health.
Our comprehensive approach cares for every aspect of patient comfort to create an environment free of fear and stress. We love the work we do, the patients we serve, and the amazing people we work with every day.
It all started in the basement
Do you know we began our practice in the basement of the Sears (now Willis) Tower? Spearheaded by Dr. Laurie Schumacher, the practice served patients working at many of the consulting firms in the building. Eventually, we moved out of the basement and into our current downtown Chicago office to accommodate the growing number of patients.
In 2023, Dr. Schumacher retired and confidently handed the reins to Dr. Matt Shachat, who is working to establish a streamlined experience for existing and new patients. This includes expanded and flexible appointment times, as well as in-house specialty services like root canal therapy and same-day crowns.
Giving back through service
We love giving back to our community. Several times a year, Dr. Shachat and his staff donate their time to the Chicago Dental Society’s Foundation Dental Clinic, which provides free dental care to patients in need from Cook, Lake, and DuPage Counties.
We also regularly appear at the annual Willis Tower Wellness Fair helping the many Loop residents and office workers stay on top of their health.
